Falling in love...

*Hello YPG,
the following is a blog taken from Mrs. Cristiane Cardoso
you can see more at cristianecardoso.com

It’s very common to have someone say: “I didn’t choose to fall in love with him, it just happened.” It’s with this argument that girls or women make themselves incapable of getting out of a bad relationship. They avoid looking at what’s right under their nose and end up feeling like the victim when it ends, and then she has to hear everyone say “I told you he was no good!”
I disagree with this theory that you had no choice. Since the time that I knew I was a woman and later worked with other women, I learned that one thing is for sure: a woman is much more perceptive and in tune with things than she thinks. We grow up with something similar to a sixth sense, I think God made us this way exactly so that we can help man, who is so rational, yet who’s missing some important details. Which to us it is a talent! We are detailed, and we should feel proud of this. We have an important role in society.
We know exactly what happens around us and we decide what to do with each detail, even if it’s a hidden one. That’s why I always say…

We’re not controlled by a passion, but we can let ourselves be taken by a passion.

When that guy got close to you, you knew that he would be bad for you, but still you let yourself fall in “love.” You liked the attention he gave you and you let yourself receive it. But you decided to ignore, all the signs which warned you that sooner or later you were going to get into an accident going at that speed.
Think about how many times you thought about and decided on things in regards to that relationship! Could you really consider yourself a victim here? Only if you mean a victim of yourself! This is what many people are not able to see…The one planning the big disappointment coming up is not that guy (who would do that to any woman,) but it’s actually your heart. Your heart leads you to this kind of blindness. Our heart is so deceptive we can’t even trust in ourselves!
That’s why I flee from evil, because if I know that inside of me I have a heart that wants my demise and will try in any way to deceive me. Imagine what would happen if I sit and listen to its suggestions? But that’s what many do when they accept that “innocent” friendship on Facebook… When they exchange numbers with guys they don’t even know very well… When they do anything to get close to these wolves at any cost, they are basically begging their heart to set them up for a huge disappointment.
Yes, I choose my friends. I choose everything – from the news I hear to the friends I add on Facebook. I like to be very picky with my time too, because I find it extremely valuable. And in this basic routine, I easily make the right decisions, because my corrupt heart is constantly locked up in the cage of my spirit.
I can already hear someone reading this say “But it’s easy to do that when you’re married, you’re not going through the need that I have to be loved!” Newsflash to you: I was already like this before I met my husband. That means if I could live without male attention once, to keep myself from evil, you can too. The only problem is…do you really want that?

RESCUED Vigil

Recap of the vigil @ Westpark...

Spiritual GPS

When you want to drive to a certain place you've never been before, you have many gadgets like GPS, navegators in your car or even on your cellphone.  Not to mention services like mapquest and google maps.  It is very difficult to get lost with so much technology.  All of these services or instruments are to help you get to where you want to go.  in the same way, When we are seeking the Holy Spirit, He is our guide to JesusChrist, He is our spiritual instrument that shows us how to find the Kingdom of God and tells us how we can be used for His glory.
In this 21 day journey it is not enough to "disconnect", from the worldy issues and distractions.  That alone is just the first part of the fast.  What happens during the time you don't watch TV, listen to music or hang out with friends?
It is precisely when the Holy Spirit is in action, you, allowing Him room in your mind, your thoughts, He will guide you as you read the Bible, pray to be sealed with His presence.  If you are in a crossroads in your life, then the Holy Spirit will show you the correct path to travel, the right decisions to make.  All of this he does for you so you may be able to find the first love, which Is Jesus.
Maybe you are set on separating from the world for the following 19 days left, but seek The Holy Spirit, ask him to be you guide to fill you mind and soul with His presence.  then you will be as Jesus said: "you are the light of the world", Mathew 5:14
having His light in you, you will certainly change others around you...

INFLUENCE

some of the most famous artists of recent years either began or had a part of their early life within the christian community.  Names such as Elvis Presley, Whitney Houston and Katy Perry are such examples of the danger of worldly (secular) influence.
Just as they surely had a chance to decide to follow God, they allowed the influence of this world to make decisions in their life.  Decisions that led them away from God's path.  That is why you have to be careful and watchful of what's influencing you!  Maybe you are a youth, teen, young adult that knows right from wrong, you know that God exists, but you are allowing the examples of this world influence your mind and heart.
Let's take an example from the Bible; Peter was a victim just as the people mentioned above.  He was Jesus's disciple, he heard the Master's teachings, saw His miracles and was part of supernatural events in Jesus's life.  Yet when Jesus was being crucified, Peter denied knowing Him.  He was afraid, embarassed and ashamed to be part of Jesus's ministry.  He allowed himself to be influenced by the crowd and the events unfolding at that time.  Maybe this is you too.  you go to church, have a bible and even pray to God.  But at school, work or when you are with people you know, you allow those people and that environment to influence your actions and your thoughts.
Maybe within your soul you know that you have not been a true follower of Christ and have even denied your faith at some point in your life.  Why? why do you fall victim to this negative influence?  Because you have yet to have a personal encounter with God.  You have yet to be baptized with His Spirit!
When a person has had the baptism with the Holy Spirit, they are not influenced by their surroundings.  they do not allow the people around them or the problems surrounding them to control their faith.  Peter, when he was baptized in the Holy Spirit, was able to stand firm and speak about his faith to a large crowd, he was so connected with God that by the time he finished speaking, he won over 3000 people for Christ.  unlike the famous singers, actors and artists who instead of winning souls for Jesus, have allowed their life to come to ruins spiritually and become a negative testimony for God.
So I ask you; who or what is influencing you mind and soul? This world or Jesus Christ?

The most important thing

the world says not to worry about your soul, God says it's what matters most...

10 Mistakes...

Here are 10 mistakes a youth makes that results in dissapointment, frustration and failure in this stage of life.  While there are more we can add, the list is only to give all teens and young adults a head's up so they can move forward in life...

1.   Forget consequences exist (act now, suffer later)
2.   Think that life is a fast-food restaurant (I get what I want, when I want, how I want)
3.   Ignore good advice!
4.   Take horrible advice!
5.   Try to fill their void with things that just make it bigger (drugs, alcohol, addictions, gangs, bad relationships)
6.   Believe that having a partner is what they are missing to be happy (most times they complicate even more your life)
7.   Pretend they are fine (I don’t have any problems, I don’t need help I’m fine!)
8.   Believe they’re youth will last forever (I can be reckless I’m young so its ok) Remember: what you do now will catch up to you tomorrow
9.   Do what they “FEEL” like doing (most things in life that have to get done, won’t involve your feelings!):
10. Think they can be happy without God (He created you with a void, He’s the only One who can fill it)

Are you making one of these???

maybe you are in a situation that is a reult of many bad choices.  Maybe you are a youth that has known only disappointment when it comes to family, love and happiness.  Maybe some tragic event unfolded in your life and you are just wanting to disappear.
You are a young man or woman that is LOST in this world.  Sadly there are so many wrong paths to follow, you hear so many different points of view on problems and situations that relate to you...
This message is for all of you that really want to see if God exists, if he can help you, this is not an invitation but a challenge.  A challenge between you and God, see if He can make the difference that no one else can in this world.  It starts with your decision to draw near to Him, turn to Him and not the drugs, friends, or other things you have already expermiented.  Then you will see His power set you free.... Because if you are lost, then He has the power to lift you up and change your life...
